Custom Plug-in Installation

Our software is officially supported with the host programs and versions listed in the Requirements section of each product page. The installer will automatically detect supported host programs during the Host Selection step. If you’d like to use an unsupported plug-in, or install to a location other than the default, you can perform a Custom Install. This article shows how to enter Custom Install mode and select a plug-in installation destination.

Notes

  • Custom Installation allows you to select where the plug-in file is placed. It does not change the location of the main application files.
  • To use the plug-in with more than one application you will need to run the installer for each desired application. For example, you may want to install in the latest version of Photoshop and an older unsupported version. Run the installer once in normal mode and then run again in Custom Install mode to select the plug-in folder for the older version of Photoshop.

Mac

  1. Make sure you quit out of all Photoshop applications before running the installer.
  2. Start the installer by double-clicking on it.
  3. At the License Agreement screen, click the application installer menu at the upper left and choose Allow Custom Install.

  6. Complete the installation.

Photoshop CS5: /Applications/Adobe Photoshop CS5/Plug-ins/

Windows

  1. Make sure you quit out of all Photoshop applications before running the installer.

  5. The next step is Host Selection. You should see a Custom Install button. Click it and browse to the desired plug-in location. Some example locations are listed below.
