Some Alien Skin programs do not have an uninstaller tool for Mac. This article shows how to remove these programs from your computer.

Note: Alien Skin programs for Mac starting with the Exposure X3 Complete Workflow Update (released in March 2018) have an uninstaller tool. This article covers how to find and use the tool.
How To Uninstall Exposure On MacOS 

Fast and Simple Removal

Often you only need to remove the application and plug-ins files from your computer. This is faster and removes the largest files from your computer. It will leave your user settings in case you want to reinstall the program at another time. 

 

Find and remove the program you wish to remove.

Exposure and Snap Art: Macintosh HD > Applications

Blow Up 3: Macintosh HD > Library > Application Support > Alien Skin > Blow Up 3 > Alien Skin Blow Up 3.app

Eye Candy 7: Macintosh HD > Library > Application Support > Alien Skin > Eye Candy 7 > Alien Skin Eye Candy 7.app

Right-click and select Move to Trash.

Remove Photoshop Filters

There are two possible plug-in folders for newer PS Versions.

New Shared location (Photoshop CC 2015.5 and later):
Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Plug-ins/CC

Traditional Photoshop Plugin location:
Applications/Photoshop version/Plug-ins

Remove the filters from those to locations and then restart Photoshop.

Remove Lightroom External Editors

Go to Lightroom > Preferences.

Select the External Editing tab.

Find and highlight the program you want to remove in the Preset dropdown.

At the bottom of the Preset dropdown select Remove preset "[Program name]".

Complete Removal

In some cases, we may have to remove all files and folders associated with an application and then reinstall. It is important to find ALL associated files and folders as often the problem you are experiencing may be due to having multiple files and versions on your machine. Also, you may have contacted support to ask about uninstalling a program from your Mac.

First complete the steps above to remove the program and plug-in folders. 

Next, use the Spotlight Tool at the upper right corner of your desktop. Type the search criteria into the text field, and a list will show. You can replace the name Exposure in this article with the name of the software you are trying to remove. For example if you are removing Blow Up 3, just search for Blow up 3 in the Spotlight menu.

Searching with quotes, such as "Exposure 7", will yield a more relevant search result, since the quotes means find the exact phrase. 

Scroll to the bottom of the list and choose Show All in Finder to open a Finder window with all files and folders containing that name. 

Highlight the files and folders with that name, right click or control click, and select Move to Trash.

After you empty the trash, all the files will be deleted, and you can then reinstall. You can ignore files that just have the program name in the metadata. The main things you are looking for are the folders located in your Photoshop plugins directory, and the application file if it appears in the list. 

The arrows in the image below, show you what you will want to delete. When you see a folder for the plug-in, just select the folder, and you will see it's path at the bottom. Make sure you are deleting the one in your plug-ins folder, wherever you have them installed at.  My plug-in path listed below may be different than yours.
