Error message when installing Blow Up
When installing Blow Up 3 into Photoshop CS5 or newer, you may run into the following error. If you are using Elements and receive this message, please click Yes and ignore it. This only applies to the CS and CC versions of Photoshop.
"File operation error with file: BlowUp3.jsx. Couldn't create/open file. Do you wish to continue?"
This is due to a permissions problem locally on your computer. The first thing to do is right click on your installer, and choose "Run as Administrator" to install again with administrative permissions.
If that does not work, just click "Yes" to proceed with the installation. You should find Blow Up 3 under the File > Automation menu. Please check to make sure it works from that location.
If it does, just download the BlowUp java file for your version, and save it to the following location. Note that these examples are for Adobe Photoshop CS6. Other versions will have similar paths.
Windows
64bit CS6 - C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6 (64 Bit)\Presets\Scripts
32bit CS6 - C:\Program Files(x86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6\Presets\Scripts
Mac
Macintosh HD\Applications\Adobe Photoshop CS6\Presets\Scripts
Once you save the Blow Up 3.jsx file to the correct location, just quit and relaunch Photoshop. Open the Filter menu and locate Blow Up 3 at the bottom.
